Wind Cave is more than just a hole in the ground

Elk at Wind Cave National Park

So why am I showing a photo of an elk on my post for Wind Cave National Park?  Even though Wind Cave is the world’s fifth longest cave with 95% of a rare formation called boxwork, the surface is nearly as impressive, with herds of bison, elk, pronghorn and prairie dogs all wandering freely over the largest mixed-grass prairie in the United States.  Please check out our Wind Cave photo tour to see the cave and the wildlife.
